00351 - When you Work as if you are Doing it for God

When you do anything for God, try to do your best. If it’s a building project, I ask the builder, ‘Are you giving God a fair price?’ It raises some eyebrows but also saves loads of money. Also, go the extra mile in anything you do which involves God.

Luke 16:13 says, ‘No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.’ (NIV)

Whatever you do for Jesus, do it with all of your heart, don’t cut corners; put your heart into it; you are doing it out of love for Him, not obligation. You may be in a rubbish job; focus on Jesus, and do that job with delight so people can see your joy for Jesus through your service to them. Amen.

Quote

Working for God is service, not control, and doing whatever you can to forward His Kingdom.

Prayer

Father, show me how I can become more effective for You. Amen.

Action Point

You will probably know someone trying to do something significant for God. They will have a need, so why not volunteer?
