Ascension Day marks 40 days after Easter Sunday (the resurrection of Jesus). It’s the day when Jesus ascended into Heaven. This was the final act in the process of restoring the connection between God the Father and His creation, mankind. Moses and Elijah appeared next to Jesus, symbolising the Law and the prophets. The Law fulfilled, the prophetic to come. Also called the Transfiguration, Jesus was Transfigured to Heaven.
John 3:13 says, ‘No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.’ (NKJV)
Jesus took His place at His Father's right hand, making intercession for us. Jesus now focuses on providing the gift of repentance and the forgiveness of sin. It’s wonderful to know that Jesus is still there (part of the Trinity), ensuring anyone has a route to forgiveness—one Kingdom family now, including us.
