Men usually think they are DIY experts, even with no experience. The DIY anointing from God (if there was such a thing) is not a spiritual gift. Women tend to doubt any of that self-confidence. Sometimes the disagreement of capability can cause upset. The best advice would be to stick to what you know, not what you think you are an unqualified expert of.
Proverbs 24:3 says, ‘By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding, it is established.’ (NIV)
Sometimes it's better to concede to an expert than risk the wrath of a loved one if you try it yourself. DIY is a step-by-step process, and at the very least, no one will be unhappy if you prepare everything for the expert to come in. Building a home takes time and requires help and lots of loving conversation. Faith won’t help you improve your DIY expertise; help will.
Don’t let conflict let you lose your peace.
Lord, help me get beyond my pride to strengthen my marriage. Amen.
Turn conflict into a conversation and ask advice from your partner - find a solution together.
