At 84, George Verwer, with terminal cancer, was ready for heaven, having a life well lived. I met George many times over the last 15 years; our last God-ordained meeting was on a train. We chatted about the Kingdom and the lost for an hour or so; it was inspiring, instructive - thrilling as usual. These kinds of conversations shape your life.
Matthew 25:23 was prophetic for George; it says, ‘His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ (NIV).
There are times in life when you meet people and know you are indirectly communicating with God. They exude so much of His character and Kingdom that your life changes. We must step up to the plate for the coming generation. God, please use us all. Amen.
