Proverbs 4:25-27 says ‘Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the[a] paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.’ (NIV)
Distraction is one of the biggest hinderances to our faith. No time to pray or read the Bible. Life then becomes too busy to go deeper with God. Yet busy with what ? Watching TV?, Doing social media?, Socialising? All are distractions of a modern culture that grows more distant from God.
God is not a task master who demands our time. He patiently waits for us like a caring Father who wants to spend time with His child. Let’s double down our efforts and give something up, to spend that time with God. You will grow in faith when you do.
Quote
Distraction does not produce fruit, just distance from God.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, Daddy, sorry. I pray I will overcome distraction to spend more time with You. Amen.
Action Point
The average adult in the UK watches TV for three hours and two minutes each day. Why not swap that with praying and Bible study for a week and see what happens?
