We might all have been on the receiving end of anger; someone shouting in anger or even rage. Let remind ourselves that behaviour like this is indicative of sin. Even though we are saved through faith in Jesus, there are still weaknesses in our character which occasionally rear their ugly heads.
Proverbs 14:29 says ‘People with understanding control their anger; a hot temper shows great foolishness.’ (NLT)
Anger is fuelled by the enemies need to show us in some way we serve him as much as we serve Jesus. It’s a lie of course, but doesn’t remove the fact that before Jesus we have sin at our core. The good news is you can overcome anger, through surrendering this bad behaviour to Jesus. It’s the only way you will truly conquer something you might have never wanted in the first place. Stand in faith to overcome any anger today.
Quote
To tame anger, get closer to Jesus.
Prayer
Lord, thank you that the closer I get to you, the more the weaknesses in my character fall away. Amen.
Action Point
If you have been angry, learn from it, say sorry to the person and repent to God, pray more and keep your character in check.
