This lovely song was written by Marijohn Wilkin and Kris Kristofferson and in 1979 in the UK, became a chart topping song; performed by Lena Martell. It reminds us there are challenges in the world, which we can’t fix. Yet, keeping our focus on Jesus and knowing He is walking with us, daily. What a wonderful reassurance that is.
The challenges of the world can be overwhelming, sometimes all we can cope with is what today brings us. There are wars, rumours of wars, brexit, covid, the cost of living crisis, all challenging our desire to grow in our understanding of faith.
Matthew 6:34 says ‘So don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will have its own worries. Each day has enough trouble of its own.’ (NCV) We will always have the assurance of Jesus walking with us through any storm in life or wider society. Hallelujah, thank you Jesus.
Quote
Spending one day walking with Jesus is worth more than a lifetime without Him.
Prayer
Lord, help me to rest in the knowledge that You are with me today. Amen.
