Most animals around don’t have our life expectancy. Of course some buck that trend. Dog’s for example age at 7 times our rate, which probably explains how energetic they are in their early years.
I’ve always wondered if the short but full life span of animals around us, help us understand our own mortality, the fact that everything has a lifespan and an end to life.
Philippians 4:6-7 says ‘Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.’ (NLT) Whichever animal you have lost, celebrate the joy they brought to our lives, their memory will live on in you for longer. Remember, God is the master creator of us all.
