Around this time of year I always look at what I spent my time on, and was it in line with anything God has told me to do ? I’ve found over the years that that simple question really focussed my attention on following God more in the coming year.
Philippians 3:16 says, ‘So let us keep on obeying the same truth we have already been following’. (NLV)
I go through my diary and have a good hard look at what I spent my time on. I look at new friends and what happened to old friends, and I make sure I took sufficient time off to keep healthy. In all of this I try assess if I have strayed from God’s leading and what I need to do to get back to God’s plan for me in the coming year. It’s always a great time to refocus on God.
Quote
Steering back to God’s plan will bring the most impact long term.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me to steer back to you, to cut through the noise of the year and find your clear voice again, Amen.
Action Point
You will have to be tough with yourself, move away from things that distract you from God and get closer to Him once more.
