Covid has allowed most of us to fall out of our normal routine, and drift into endless hours of TV watching, letting lethargy take hold of us like never before.
Romans 12:11-13 give us some great advice ‘Don’t burn out; keep yourselves fuelled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant. Don’t quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Help needy Christians; be inventive in hospitality’ (MSG).
The average person watches 4 hours of TV per day, which is 1,460 hours per year. Imagine if we halved that time and used it to do something for God’s Kingdom? Establishing healthy routines is the first step. Even when times have been tough, find something constructive to do. Volunteer somewhere or study something, doing either will help you gain focus, give you a sense of fulfilment and in the end will help people around you. Start the journey today!
Quote Halving our TV time would revolutionise the Kingdom of God around you.
Prayer Father, help me let go of the things which cause lethargy and help me do things which build your Kingdom, Amen.
