How do we know when we are in God’s presence or not? This could be a difficult question, but it might have a straightforward answer. Exodus 33:14 promises, ‘My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest’ (NIV).
If God’s presence is with us when we go, we must ask the question of what could distract us from it along the way? Do we set any time aside to just pray and be with God? Is there an appointment with God in your diary? Have we determined that He is a such a special friend, do we study to understand Him more?
Every time the distractions of life are stripped away, He is there, waiting, and ready to spend time with you, whether in Prayer, Worship or Bible Study. The biggest problem is we tend to let things get in the way of spending time with Him.
Quote Being in God’s presence means you are not distracted by anything else.
Prayer Heavenly Father, show me the things I need to deal with to spend more time focussing on you, Amen.
Action point
The last time I took a day off to worship, read the bible and pray without distraction, I felt blessed beyond measure, give it a go.
