Trust in God

Proverbs 3:5-6 is an often-used scripture, telling us to ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths’. If ever there was a scripture to live by, it’s this one.

To trust to that extent is often hard. To not try and fix a situation ourselves, is virtually impossible. Our human nature will always want to be in control. Yet these two small verses of scripture give us a recipe if you like of what is needed before God will act.

If we cut corners to get to where we think we want to be and don’t involve God, how is that acknowledging Him? Sometimes we have to exercise a lot of faith to trust God completely. It’s only then that He can come through for us, when we trust in Him.

Quote It’s only when you trust in Him, your path in life will become straight.

Prayer Father, help me to trust you more, even when I’m impatient, Amen.

Action Point

If there is something going on in your life that you haven’t been able to fix, why not trust God with it and see what happens when He is involved.
