Of course, that’s a play on Independence Day, celebrated today by Americans around the world. As Christians, let’s celebrate our Inter-dependence, our reliance on friends and family, on our Church and of course on God.
Psalm 73:26 says, ‘My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever’. (NIV)
Take a bit of time today to appreciate the goodness of God and the goodness of life around us, our connections, and conversations. When Christ is the central focus of everything that we do, we will live full, inter-connected, inter-dependent lives. We will share, help, and root for anyone who has need. That’s where the Kingdom of God is built, not in isolation, not in subjugation, but in the fullness of who we are together, one big global family of God, helping each other get to where we each need to be.
Quote
The Kingdom of God is built through our dependence on one another.
Prayer
Thank you, Lord, that your Kingdom circles the earth, has Christians in every country, speaking every main language, and I am part of that today, Amen.
Action Point
Why not reach out to one or two people in your life who have been a significant encourager to you in recent times and just say thank you.
