
Bonnie Keen is a founding member of the critically acclaimed recording trio, First Call. She has received three Dove Awards, five Grammy nominations, and an Emmy nomination for her work as a recording artist, author and speaker. Bonnie covered new ground as a solo artist, writing for her own CDs. Her personal story of survival from divorce, single parenthood, and clinical depression has graced the covers of “Today’s Christian Woman” and “Virtue” magazine. Books Bonnie has authored share first-hand experience of God’s ongoing mercy and openly reveal her journey from despair to hope.
As a speaker Bonnie mixes material from her CDs and books with pieces inspired by her background in musical theater and comedy. Her first theatrical performance was at age 11 as Alice in Nashville Academy Theatre’s Alice in Wonderland. Twice awarded Best Actress of the Year by Circle Theatre, Bonnie has also performed at the Nightingale Theatre and Opryland, Gaylord. Favorite roles: The Witch (Into the Woods) Helena (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Anne (Shenandoah), Cecily (The Importance of Being Earnest), and Mary Magdalene (Beauty For Ashes.) Bonnie was honored to perform in Studio Tenn’s premiere productions (2009-10) as Mrs. Soames (Our Town) and Grace (Cinderella, with the Nashville Symphony) and Ernestina (Hello Dolly)
Bonnie’s studio background includes singing for artists Garth Brooks, Steve Winwood, Barry Manilow and Amy Grant. She is currently touring an original two woman musical written with Nan Gurley, “Women Who Dare To Believe”.
Bonnie lives with her husband Brent in Franklin Tennessee and cherishes visits with her children, Courtney and Graham.
