Morning Seminars

A)  Help Me God, I'm a Mom! - Joyce Warman (counselor, speaker, author, resource      person for Mothers of Preschoolers) Observations and practical advice from the      trench to guide you in mothering your child from birth to release. Yes...they do go      one day! Learn how to give them grace-filled hearts for the journey.

B)  God's Treasure House: “Go for the Gold” - Nancy Worth (skilled Bible study      leader, mentor, acclaimed speaker, wife of the pastor of Beverly Hills Presbyterian      Church) can be left emotionally and spiritually drained by these problems. God's      Word ) We hear it everywhere: “Go for the Gold.” For most of us a gold medal is out      of reach. Yet our lives can be enriched daily by unlocking the door to the treasure      house of God's Holy Word. Nancy will guide us in the adventure of discovering the      Bible's precious jewels and golden promises.

C)  Traveling God's Way: Trusting in God's Provision - Sarah Reimers
     (Bible study teacher at Bel Air Presbyterian Church, wife, and mother of young      children.) Our Lord's name, Jehovah-Jirah, means “the Lord will provide.” Do 21st      century Christians believe that Biblical promise? Can our faith hold up under      the challenges of daily living? The path may not always be smooth, but we can begin      to trust in God's provision for us, materially, emotionally and spiritually.

D)  The Power of a Woman's Prayers - Karen Covell - (film producer, creator of      Hollywood Prayer Network, author and mentor) Don't ever feel guilty again about the      need to pray more. Through powerful scripture verses, humor and touching personal      stories, Karen will demonstrate how easy it is to make prayer a natural part of a      woman's everyday life. Learn how new praying strategies can change your world and      make a difference in the lives of others.

E)  Praise Dance Workshop (for Juniors) - Avrielle Corti and Maran McLeod
     (both accomplished young dancers) Girls will learn the gracious act of worshipping      by means of dance.

F)   Sex Before Marriage: What Does the Bible Say? (for Teens) - Stacy Rubio
      (graduate of Moody Bible Institute, young wife and mother, enthusiastic believer)       Temptation is everywhere, and “the rules” have become blurred in our society. The       Bible is not vague when it comes to sex. God praises the marriage union as the
      only place for sexual union. We will explore together how the Lord rewards purity
      and how young women can find the strength to uphold their values.

Afternoon Seminars

G)  To Have Faith or to Live by Faith, That is the Question - Dr. Peg T. Cantwell
      (pastor, Bible teacher, friend, counselor and prayer partner of many) The Word of       God has profound lessons to teach us about faith and how it can impact our very       identity.Together, we will explore the ways a faithful partnership with our Father can       affect our self-worth, our relationships and the values by which we live our lives.    

H)  Women God Has Used to His Glory - Panel led by Susan Rigby
      (seminary graduate, director of Christian Education at FPCH, leader of short-term       mission trips and mentor) History tells us much more about how God has used men       to do His work in the world than about the women. Yet, some of God's most       influential servants have been women missionaries and educators who have become       great leaders of faith. Let the stories of Amy Carmichael, Elizabeth Elliott, Marianna       Slocum, Marilyn Laszlo and our own Henrietta Mears inspire you to be all God
      wants you to be.

I)   Pick Up Your Mat and Walk! (for Teens) - Julietta Corti (actress, dancer,      communicator, Bible teacher and our MC) What has us paralyzed and sidelined in our      lives? Distractions? Vicarious living? Shame? Fear? Hopelessness? Jesus has called      us to live an abundant life, so let's get off the couch and live it!

J)   Finding Mr. Right - Being Mrs. Right - Joyce Warman (see A above) Let's be       honest - the search for the one to make us happy can be a disappointing one, if we       don't learn to avoid all the Mr. Wrongs out there. Joyce will share a strategy for       romance that will make us smart, discerning and attractive women to the
      RIGHT man!.


K)   Rocky Relationships - Nancy Worth (see B above) Disagreement is inevitable       between people who have strong feelings for one another. But there are healthy       ways to have a good clean fight, which can lead us back to a unity of the spirit that       Christ wants for us. Explore with Nancy how to go from rocky to harmonious in your       relationships.        

L)   Coping With Crises - Rev. Greg Hughes (pastor of Malibu Presbyterian Church)       Not only did Greg lose his church building to the recent fires, many in his       congregation were also displaced by the blaze. Learn how God's grace can help
      you deal with life's many crises and the aftermath.

M)   Merry Makers for the Master (For Juniors) Marjorie Lowe Singing games and        Orff instruments for our youngest guests to experience and enjoy.
